Where to Get Dragon King’s Cragblade in Elden Ring

The Dragon King’s Cragblade is one of the most powerful Lightning weapons in Elden Ring, but players will have to look off the beaten path to get it.

The Dragon King’s Cragblade is one of Elden Ring’s powerful secret weapons, and Tarnished players who venture off the beaten path will be able to claim this mighty sword for themselves. This heavy thrusting sword offers devastating offensive power and the unique Thundercloud Form weapon skill. However, as its name suggests, players will only be able to claim this mighty weapon by defeating one of the toughest dragons in Elden Ring, and he’s almost as hard to find as he is to beat.

To wield the Dragon King’s Cragblade, Elden Ring players will need a minimum of 18 Strength and 37 Dexterity. The Dragon King’s Cragblade deals Standard and Pierce damage as well as Lightning damage, making this a great weapon to use against dragons like Flying Dragon Agheel and heavily armored enemies. Its Thundercloud Form weapon skill allows the user to transform into a red thundercloud and fly through the air to strike down with a powerful lightning attack.

In order to claim the Dragon King’s Cragblade, Elden Ring players must defeat Dragonlord Placidusax, the secret boss of the Crumbling Farum Azula area that can be reached late in the game. This area can only be unlocked by resting at the Forge of the Giants Site of Grace and speaking to Melina after defeating the nearby boss of this area. Once players make it to Crumbling Farum Azula, Dragonlord Placidusax can be encountered on a floating platform below the northern cliff of the ruined island.

Where To Find Dragonlord Placidusax In Elden Ring

Elden Ring players have to lie down on a ruin in Crumbling Farum Azula to encounter Dragnolord Placidusax.

From the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace, Elden Ring players can take the nearby elevator and proceed down the set of stairs to the right once they reach the bottom. Following the hallway will lead outside where players will find a small lantern on the ground. There’s a platform just below the edge of the cliff here that players can drop down to. Jumping from rock to rock towards the nearby cyclone will lead to a large ruin where players will be prompted to lie down in the empty space next to the broken pillar. This will trigger a cutscene and initiate the boss fight. Once Dragonlord Placidusax has been defeated, players will receive the Remembrance of the Dragonlord, which they can trade to Enia at Roundtable Hold to receive the Dragon King’s Cragblade.

The Dragon King’s Cragblade requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade, which Elden Ring players can find while exploring or purchase from Smithing Master Iji. However, since the Cragblade has a unique skill, it cannot be altered with Ashes of War, and players won’t be able to enchant it with magic or use weapon grease on it, either. Still, the Dragon King’s Cragblade hardly needs any improvements, and Elden Ring players will become a force to be reckoned with once they have this mighty blade at their side.
