Carrie’s 13 Best Pairs Of Shoes (& What They Cost Today)

“I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!” bemoaned Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex And The City episode when she realized she couldn’t afford to buy her apartment back from Aidan because the writer had no money. She did, however, have a $40,000 designer shoe collection — a moment that lives rent-free in fans’ heads when Carrie found out.

Carrie’s footwear game was second to none: Manolo Blahniks, Jimmy Choos, and Christian Louboutins… “The higher the better,” was Carrie’s motto, even when she fell off her Sex and the City strappy sandals and face-planted onto the catwalk. Regardless, there wasn’t—and still isn’t—anyone who wouldn’t want to walk a mile in this chic New Yorker’s expensive shoes.

Updated on March 30th, 2022, by Lynn Gibbs: With the recent announcement that Sex and the City’s reboot And Just Like That… was awarded a second season, fans are rewatching the series for the friendships, relationships, and more importantly, the shoes. Sex and the City shoes have become icons on their own. Carrie Bradshaw’s love of fashion has inspired many to collect the same shoes Carrie wore throughout the series.

Christian Louboutin Iriza Pump

As many things went bad for Carrie when she was dating Big, things got worse when she moved to Paris for her boyfriend Alexandr.

Carrie wore the white Christian Louboutin Iriza pump when she was perusing through Paris. And while the City of Love was supposed to awaken Carrie and bring her closer to Alexandr, she never felt more alone. When she strolled through the streets, she stepped in a pile of dog feces, which only made her time worse. She tried rinsing them off at a nearby fountain but Carrer was defeated. Fans can buy these heels for around $631 off the Louboutin website.

Jimmy Choo Slingback Sandals

At the start of the third season, Carrie starts dating a local politician, Bill Kelley. The two spent the night on Staten Island but it was cut short when she realized she was going to be late for the ferry.

Carrie sprinted to make the ferry but along the way she lost her shoe, or as Carrie said, “Wait! I lost my Choo!” According to Page Six Style, fans of SATC can buy these slingbacks for $875.

Christian Louboutin Strappy Sandals

Carrie is praised for her outfits in the reboot And Just Like That… but her style moments in the original series can’t be discredited.

In the third season, Carrie and the girls go to Los Angeles because Carrie had meetings for her column. During one night on the town, fans noticed that Carrie was wearing mismatched heels — one being pink and one being blue. On Instagram, Sarah Jessica Parker noted that this decision was on purpose because of the colors of the Louboutin strappy sandals. Fans of this look can copy it by buying a pair for $795, according to Louboutin’s website.

Manolo Blahnik Chaos Sandals

“Please, sir, they’re my favorite pair!” is what Carrie pleaded when she was forced at gunpoint to unbuckle the ankle straps of her Manolo Blahnik Chaos Sandals, which are originally worth $725, according to InterMix.

After being mugged, Carrie ran to the nearest store, calls 911, as well as Miranda, who brings moral support and a pair of basic shoes for Carrie to wear home. The writer may have lost her heels, but Miranda said everything fans were thinking when Carrie would rather go barefoot than wear the shoes Miranda brought for her.

Chanel Two-Tone Booties

Carrie has worn these black and white Chanel booties on more than one occasion. She wore these in some of the best episodes with Aleksandr Petrovsky — including when the two were in Paris.

They once sold for $1,000, but now make a rare appearance on sites like The Real Real, etc. If one is lucky enough to snag a pair, follow Carrie’s cue and use any excuse to take the stairs so there’s a reason to hike up the skirt and show off the heeled Cocos.

Christian Dior Gladiator Sandals

These Christian Dior Gladiator sandals were worn in the first SATC movie back in 2008. Carrie rocked this bold heel with a delicate white dress with gold trim and large floral adornment. Because of Carrie’s fashion choices in the first movie, some fans believe it’s better than the sequel.

When this style retailed, it did so for $770. Now it’s available on the secondary market like The Real Real for what sellers can get, which is around $200.

Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes

It was the day that Carrie Bradshaw had a fashion epiphany. While exploring the Vogue accessories closet, the writer declared in disbelief: “Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes. I thought these were an urban shoe myth.” Still currently retailing to the tune of $745, found on Bergdorf Goodman, this style was a way for Mr. Blahnik to get back to basics after going through a baroque period.

Carrie wasn’t supposed to be in the closet anyway, let alone try on the merchandise — but she squeezed her feet into the dream come true heels.

Proenza Schouler Studded Snakeskin Heels

In the first movie, Carrie and Big’s relationship timeline found them engaged and planning a wedding. Carrie booked over to the New York Public Library in her Proenza Schouler studded snakeskin-heeled strappy sandals (and mustard safari vest by the same designer) only to realize it was the perfect place to marry.

Because this style of shoe is from the designer’s Spring 2008 collection, it’s now only available on sites like Poshmark pre-owned on the secondary market priced at whatever the seller can get.

Christian Louboutin Petal Sandals

Carrie responded “Hello, lover” to these beautiful Christian Louboutin Petal Sandals that cost around $995, according to Alux.

In the episode titled ‘I Heart NY,’ these were the fuchsia gems Carrie was going to wear on her last date with Mr. Big before he left NYC. But alas, Miranda went into labor and because she and Carrie are best friends, Carrie rushed to hospital where the mom-to-be’s water broke all over her pal’s ruffled feet.

Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby d’Orsay Pump

Carrie was shoe-shamed for her extravagance when a party guest of her friend Kyra helped themselves to her Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby d’Orsay pump with rhinestone buckle. At the time, Kyra had to pony up $485 to replace the stolen pair, but a few years ago—the last time this style was available in retail—it was for $755, noted by The Fifth CollectionConsidering Carrie’s freelance career, it’s astounding she was able to pay for these before they were stolen.

Mr. Blahnik has retired this particular d’Orsay for now but is sold on the secondary market (eBay, Poshmark, etc.) for whatever the market will bear.

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Satin Pump

Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something of a shoe that is a best seller for Manolo Blahnik, hence why it is still part of the designer’s collection.

The Hangisi Satin Pump currently retails for $995 on Bergdorf Goodman. It’s also available with a kitten heel and as a flat. In the first SATC movie, Carrie was reminded that she left the royal blue stilettos in the apartment she was supposed to share with Big after they got married. Big and Carrie weren’t perfect, but these shoes were. After getting the shoes, she ran into Big, and the two reconciled.

Christian Louboutin Pigalle Gold Stiletto Pumps

In Sex and the City 2, Carrie paired her white Halston dress with a pair of sparkling Christian Louboutin Pigalle Gold Stiletto Pumps valued at $3,095, noted by US Magazine.

Since these are from 2009, most are only found on the re-sale circuit. If fans like a pair of sparkly shoes that are brand new, then the look for less can be procured via Jimmy Choo whose comparable Romy Glitter Degrade Pumps currently retail for $750.

Dr. Scholl’s Original Collection Sandal

Carrie’s stylish footwear is often spiked and high-heeled, but there are a few moments when Carrie wears sneakers or even prescribed slides.

Her prescription for pain-free feet: Dr. Scholl’s Original Collection Sandal at $120 and worth every foot massaging cent. Even when Carrie is wearing slides, fans can always count on a tiny heel being there.
