A new fan poster for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 has the perfect title for his next MCU movie, showing the aftermath of Doctor Strange’s spell.
A fan poster for the currently untitled Spider-Man 4 imagines Peter Parker dealing with the world forgetting he ever existed. After an intense battle with Green Goblin, Electro, Lizard, and Sandman in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the multiverse nearly cracked open with people from alternate universes who knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man. In order to save his world, Peter told Doctor Strange to cast a spell that would make everybody not only forget he was Spider-Man but also lose any memory of Peter Parker.
At this point, there is virtually no information known about Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland. Sony producer Amy Pascal had initially revealed a new Spider-Man trilogy with Holland was in the works in November 2021. But just a month later, Pascal backtracked, saying, “If I have my way we will” in regards to future Disney/Sony Spider-Man collaborations. Additionally, Holland seems uncertain about whether he is going to return as Spider-Man. Holland has stated he doesn’t want to continue playing Spider-Man into his 30s and has said he would be thrilled to be a mentor-like figure to the next actor that plays Spider-Man. Other than this, Sony and Marvel Studios haven’t revealed anything about a future collaboration.
Until Sony and Disney reveal new information about Holland’s return, fans are left to speculate and create artwork like this poster from tmy_arts. Since the Homecoming trilogy is over, the artist subtitled the movie Web of Memories, theorizing the next film will deal with the aftermath of Doctor Strange’s spell. The poster shows Spider-Man in front of the New York skyline wearing the new suit he made at the end of No Way Home. Check out the artist’s original post below:
Holland’s Spider-Man clearly took some wisdom away from fighting alongside Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men and even revealed his home-stitched suit. Based on the end of the movie, Spider-Man’s crime-fighting career has just begun. And with the character finally getting out of Iron Man’s shadow, it seems like it would be a mistake not to make more movies with him.
There are a few different ways Holland could return in Spider-Man 4, but whatever happens, the next movie will have to tackle Peter living in a world where nobody knows who he is, as the above poster suggests. Sony’s newest Spider-Man spinoff, Morbius, once again hinted at a Sinister Six team-up, but it still hasn’t been confirmed which Spider-Man universe they are in. There have been rumors that Garfield might return for Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, which Disney may prefer over being involved with the negatively reviewed spinoffs. Regardless, with the amount of money Spider-Man: No Way Home made at the box office and with digital sales, updates on Holland’s return should come soon enough.
