The 10 Strongest Opponents Obi-Wan Kenobi Has Defeated In A Fight

Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally here, and with many Inquisitors and even Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader set to make appearances, it’s only a matter of time before fans see Kenobi face off against many tough foes. As Obi-Wan Kenobi has defeated some of the strongest bounty hunters, creatures, and lightsaber users in the Galaxy, he is widely considered by fans as one of if not the greatest Jedi of all time.

Since it’s very possible for Obi-Wan to go up against his toughest opponents yet in his own show, here’s a look at the strongest opponents Obi-Wan Kenobi has defeated.

While not being the lightsaber-wielding opponent fans normally see Obi-Wan square off against, the Acklay was a deadly and truly terrifying beast. Forced to fight the creature without a weapon and chained to a post, Kenobi had many close calls with the Ackaly, but would eventually defeat the creature after obtaining a lightsaber.

Proving that he can get by on his wit and use of the Force alone, Obi-Wan’s victory over the Ackalay gave fans the Jedi versus beast battle they never knew they wanted to see.

Moralo Eval

In a Star Wars: The Clone Wars arc that saw Obi-Wan Kenobi transform into a bounty hunter to infiltrate an assassination attempt on Chancellor Palpatine, Kenobi was forced to overcome many unique challenges and even win a fistfight with the leader of the bounty hunter team: Moralo Eval.

Although he’s not a Force or lightsaber user like most of the characters on this list, Moralo Eval’s craftiness as a bounty hunter almost gave him the edge over a weaponless Kenobi. While a brutal fistfight is something that would put most Jedi out of their element, Obi-Wan showed that he can be just as gritty and tough as a bounty hunter.

Zam Wesell

Although Jango Fett would be the one to kill Zam Wesell, Obi-Wan defeated the shapeshifting bounty hunter in a quick encounter in a bar on Coruscant. Despite being defeated with relative ease, Zam Wesell is a cunning bounty hunter that would get the jump on most non-Force users.

One of the few bounty hunters fans see Kenobi go against, Zam Wesell is one of the most popular bounty hunters amongst Star Wars fans and one of the toughest opponents Obi-Wan Kenobi has defeated.

Durge On A Speeder In Clone Wars

Durge isn’t a villain most Star Wars fans are familiar with, but he is one of the strongest and most unique villains in all of Star Wars. A monstrous cybernetically enhanced creature, Durge has taken many blaster shots and even survived lightsaber wounds.

It would take Obi-Wan getting engulfed by Durge in order for the Jedi to get the chance to put an end to the Separatist’s Commander. Being virtually indestructible and a big physical threat, Durge was one of the strongest villains of the Clone War era.

Savage Opress

Star Wars The Clone Wars Savage Opress

In a battle where Obi-Wan proved he is one of the greatest Jedi of all time, Kenobi was forced to go up against Darth Maul and his ruthless brother/apprentice Savage Opress. Living up to his name, Savage was one of the most violent and ruthless villains in the Clone Wars, as he brutally speared Jedi Adi Gallia with his horns earlier in the episode.

Despite facing two lightsaber-wielding opponents simultaneously and literally having his back up against the wall at times, Obi-Wan displayed miraculous strength and willpower as he was able to cut through Savage Opress to escape.

Pre Vizsla

Star Wars Clone Wars Pre Vizsla Darksaber

Aside from introducing fans to the Darksaber, the duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Pre Vizsla was one of the best lightsaber showdowns in the earlier seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While he wasn’t a Sith, Pre Vizsla’s combined his combat skills as a Mandalorian with a Jedi’s weapon to put up a very tough fight against the Jedi Master.

The fight may not have been as easy as he would’ve liked, but Obi-Wan’s victory over the Death Watch leader showed there was no matter how powerful, there was no foe he would ever back down from.

Asajj Ventress

Although Obi-Wan wins their earlier confrontations with relative ease, Asajj Ventress is a very deadly opponent and not to be underestimated. As she always found a way to escape her battle with Obi-Wan, Ventress would grow powerful enough to take on Anakin and Obi-Wan at the same time.

With no real closure to her story, Ventress is a character who could still be lurking around the Star Wars universe, and it’s possible we could see the banter and clash of her and Obi-Wan in the upcoming show Obi-Wan Kenobi.

General Grievous

One of the most unique and deadly lightsaber users, General Grievous almost proved to be too much for Obi-Wan. However, Obi-Wan’s use of the Force ended up giving him the upper hand and he was able to defeat the droid general.

General Grievous and Obi-Wan have also faced off in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and each time the quadruple lightsaber droid seems to have the upper hand, Obi-Wan finds a way to defeat or scare off General Grievous. As he is also the murderer of multiple other Jedi rivals, General Grievous was one of Obi-Wan’s toughest opponents.

Darth Maul

Fans sometimes forget that Darth Maul was the first Sith to appear in over a thousand years. Darth Maul proved his strength when he would take down Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jin, but Obi-Wan avenged his master and cut the double-ended lightsaber user in half.

Darth Maul would prove to be Obi-Wan’s biggest and most obsessed rival, and the two would go on to fight multiple times in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and have one final showdown in Star Wars Rebels. One of the best villains in the Star Wars franchise, Darth Maul is the signature foe of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Anakin Skywalker

Without a doubt, Obi-Wan’s toughest opponent was the Chosen One himself. In a fight that had the entire galaxy on the line, Obi-Wan bested his former Padawan in an epic and emotional showdown.

Even though the high ground would give him the victory over Anakin, Obi-Wan couldn’t bring himself to actually kill Anakin and would leave him assumably dead on Mustafar. As this fight is considered by most fans to be the greatest lightsaber duel of all time, it’s no wonder why Anakin Skywalker is at the top of this list.
