How to Automatically Pick Up Items in Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal players can find themselves struggling to pick up loot drops on small screens. Here’s how to enable the useful auto-loot function.

With the release of Diablo Immortal, Blizzard has opened the gates to Sanctuary once again, but without highlighting some of the game’s most useful features, including an auto pick-up option for loot drops. A classic dungeon-crawling franchise, Diablo celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year, and has always had a heavy focus on looting items and equipment. However, players looking to explore the world of Sanctuary on Diablo Immortal’s mobile versions might find themselves having some trouble picking up all the loot that drops from fresh kills and treasure chests. Exploring and tweaking a few settings might help properly immerse players in the world of Diablo Immortal.

For most of its history, the Diablo franchise has made its home on PC, and Diablo Immortal marks the first time that Diablo is playable on mobile. The game is free-to-play on PC and mobile, with full cross-play and cross-progression between all platforms through Blizzard’s service. Diablo Immortal also includes a battle pass with both free and paid tiers, the first time Diablo has followed an increasingly popular trend for live-service games.

Arriving on Android and iOS and featuring a full-fledged, two-tiered battle pass are significant departures from Diablo franchise tradition. However, much to the relief of fans who maligned the game’s disastrous announcement at BlizzCon 2018, Diablo Immortal is set in an expansive open world and features the same gameplay loop that made Diablo popular. Longtime fans of Diablo will find that taking loot from defeated enemies and plundered treasure chests is still a major part of the game. To build on their characters’ strengths, Diablo Immortal players loot, upgrade and salvage equipment, improving their characters’ stats to keep pace with a wide variety of increasingly powerful enemies. With a highly useful settings tweak, players can make sure that they don’t miss any dropped loot.

How to Enable Auto Pick Up in Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal’s auto pick-up feature allows players to automatically pick up items and equipment dropped by enemies or found in treasure chests. The feature isn’t enabled by default, and without it, players have to pick up everything except gold by hand. This can be difficult, especially on phones with smaller screens.

  • Step One: Press the Menu button in the top right to open Diablo Immortal’s main menu.
  • Step Two: Press the Settings button (second from the top left) to open game settings.
  • Step Three: In the General tab, scroll down to find Auto Pick Up and tick the Normal, Magic, and Rare boxes.

Diablo Immortal’s PC and mobile versions are similar, sharing a practically identical UI, so PC players can also enable auto pick up in the same way. Auto pick up in Diablo Immortal is customizable; players can choose to enable it for all loot or tweak the feature, so characters automatically pick up higher-quality items while leaving mundane items behind to avoid inventory clutter. However, it’s recommended that players enable it for all loot; any unwanted loot can then be salvaged at a blacksmith for scrap, a valuable material for upgrading the player’s equipment and gear.
