Selling Sunset & Chrishell Stause Win At MTV Movie & TV Awards

Selling Sunset wins Best Docu-Reality Series and Chrishell Stause takes home Best Reality Star at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted.

Selling Sunset won Best Docu-Reality Series and Chrishell Stause won Best Reality Star at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted. Selling Sunset season 5 recently premiered, and it did not disappoint in terms of delivering its usual dose of drama and glamor in equal measure. While Christine Quinn, dubbed by fans as the show’s token villain, has not gotten along with her castmates for many seasons, this season in particular saw that tension come to a head. The mutual dislike between Christine and Chrishell was at a notable high this season, and Chrishell’s friends, including Mary Fitzgerald and Heather Rae El Moussa, were tired of Christine’s bullying and rude comments made both to their faces and to the press. Christine has said she will not return for future seasons, but her castmates believe she will come around again.

Not all of the entertainment came from Christine, however. New cast member and real estate agent Chelsea Lazkani offered a fresh perspective and shook things up by befriending the otherwise largely friendless Christine. Chelsea brought gorgeous fashion as well as fierce intelligence to the cast. Meanwhile, Chrishell’s love life took center stage as fans watched her relationship and subsequent breakup with The Oppenheim Group president Jason Oppenheim. After enjoying a professional relationship for many years, Jason and Chrishell began dating in 2021. The two grew close quickly and even enjoyed a romantic getaway to Italy with friends. Ultimately, the two went their separate ways as Chrishell was ready to have children and Jason was not ready to be a father. Chrishell surprised fans when she revealed during the reunion episode that she is dating nonbinary singer G Flip.

On Sunday, Selling Sunset won big at the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted. Chelsea, Heather, Chrishell, Emma Hernan, Vanessa Villela and more of the cast took the stage alongside producer Adam DiVello to accept the award for Best Docu-Reality Series, as reported by People. Selling Sunset beat Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Summer House, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta to secure the win. Christine was notably absent from the awards ceremony. Earlier this month, she revealed shocking and horrifying allegations against Adam DiVello, accusing him of manipulation, aggression and even allegedly telling her to kill herself.

Chrishell also won an impressive award, securing Best Reality Star. Accepting the award, Chrishell thanked fans for supporting her coming out. Taking the stage, Chrishell expressed her appreciation, saying, “I knew about this nomination before I had said anything about my sexuality. The fact that this was voted on after means so much to me because I wasn’t sure how that was gonna go.” Chrishell also had the support of her ex-boyfriend, Jason, as he sat next to her during the ceremony. Chrishell began dating the Australian musician soon after her breakup with Jason and even appeared in their music video.

If Christine is the villain of Selling Sunset, then Chrishell is the show’s sweetheart. However, the feud between the two may have been overdramatized by producers and fans alike. After Chrishell came out, Christine expressed support for her castmate, indicating little ill will between the two women. Whether or not fans will get to see more of the two powerhouse real estate agents remains to be seen.
