The Teen Wolf franchise is returning to the small screen with a spinoff titled Wolf Pack. Here’s everything we know about its plot, cast, and release.
The Teen Wolf franchise is far from being over, and with its Wolf Pack spin-off now underway — here is everything we know about the Wolf Pack 2022 series. Before being canceled after season 6, the Teen Wolf series garnered a loyal following with its rich mythology, well-choreographed action scenes, and relatable coming-of-age hijinks. Considering how the show’s well-rounded approach toward dark werewolf mayhem and emotional teenage melodrama made it a smash hit on MTV, it is likely that the Wolf Pack spin-off will tread a similar path.
The original Teen Wolf follows the adventures — and misadventures — of teenager Scott McCall, who gets bitten by a mysterious animal one day. Soon after, his life turns upside down when the bite gradually turns him into a werewolf, giving him superhuman abilities. While he struggles to strike a balance between his regular life as a teenager and his werewolf desires and responsibilities, his best friend Styles plays detective to explore the supernatural underbelly of their town. Teen Wolf is led by an incredibly talented cast, including Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Colton Haynes, Holland Roden, Crystal Reed, Shelley Henning, and Arden Cho, among many others.
Many cast members of the original series are returning for the upcoming Teen Wolf movie, which is expected to pave the way for the Wolf Pack 2022 spin-off. With so many new supernatural developments and cast additions to look forward to, Wolf Pack seems to be an exciting step forward for the Teen Wolf franchise. Here’s everything that’s known about Wolf Pack, including the cast, projected release date, and story details.
Wolf Pack Cast
In a press release, Paramount+ announced Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, and Tyler Lawrence Gray as Wolf Pack’s four leads. Armani Jackson (from the cast of Ready Player One) will play Everett, while Bella Shepard will take the role of Blake. Newcomers Robertson and Lawrence, who will play Luna and Harlan, respectively, will also be joining them. The series also includes Stella Smith as Tia Patterson and Nevada Jose as Danny Navarro.
In a surprise announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Buffy veteran Sarah Michelle Gellar will be joining the Wolf Pack 2022 cast. Gellar will be playing a character named Kristin Ramsey, who is an arson investigator. She’s brought in by authorities to catch a teenage arsonist responsible for starting a massive wildfire. At Comic-Con, Sarah Michelle Gellar announced her Wolf Pack appearance in the upcoming series with the following: “It’s amazing, [Davis] is amazing. Everything these guys said about family and the atmosphere of a show that Jeff runs is really true and I hope that you guys [Posey and Hoechlin] come join us!”
Wolf Pack Story: What Is The Show About?
Based on Edo Van Belkom’s book series, Wolf Pack follows Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard), who find each other when a supernatural creature awakens from a forest fire and wreaks havoc in their town. Their fateful encounter leads them to two other teenagers, Harlan (Tyler Lawrence Gray) and Luna (Chloe Rose Robertson), who were adopted by a park ranger after another similarly mysterious wildfire that harkens back to sixteen years ago. With the full moon up in the sky, the cast of werewolves set out to solve the mysteries behind the werewolf secret that connects them. Based on the plot synopsis of the Wolf Pack series, the show will be closely following the events of the book series.
How Wolf Pack Connects To Teen Wolf
Paramount+ revealed (via Twitter) that the Teen Wolf movie will serve as a setup for Wolf Pack. The Teen Wolf movie might resolve some leftover mysteries from the original show, but most details regarding its connection with Wolf Pack are still unknown at this time. However, considering how Wolf Pack is being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, just like the Teen Wolf movie, it is possible that its storyline — or at least a part of it — will feature Scott McCall’s hometown, Beacon Hills.
Wolf Pack Release Date
Reportedly (via TV Line), Wolf Pack’s production began in the last week of June 2022, and it is scheduled to premiere sometime toward the end of 2022 on Paramount+. It was speculated that Wolf Pack’s release could be delayed to early 2023, given that the Teen Wolf movie is supposed to set the stage for its plot. However, it looks like the series will officially be hitting screens in late 2022.
